UNCW Nursing Students – Belize

In a few weeks, 23 graduate family nurse practitioner students and senior nursing students with 3 faculty will be traveling to Belize. While there we will offer clinics to the most needy people of Belize, visit ruins and take a river trip. We will work hard! Now, we are busy organizing, purchasing medications, and other supplies. We depart 3/4/17 from Wilmington, NC to San Ignacio, Belize and return 3/11/17.

We will post each day with pictures and reflections on our travels and the wonderful people we meet. We also want to hear from you. Please visit our blog often. What a great way to spend spring break@!! Belize, here we come!!

  1. Yes we will be busy but it will be such a wonderful learning experience for all of us. Getting excited (and maybe a little nervous too….)

  2. May God keep each one of you safe during this trip and your hearts filled with joy. I’m so proud of each of you for taking this time during spring break to give to others in need.

p.s. I’m happy to announce that at 2:06 PM EST, March 4, 2017, I received a text from my daughter, Meredith Lee, that they have arrived safely in Belize.

    Lots of love, Mom (Joanne)
